Short description
The FlexSorter-S is a plug transplanter and multi-class selection machine designed for plug-grown seedlings. It combines transplanting, gapping and packing into a single processing step to reduce handling and avoid double handling damage.

Overview
The FlexSorter-S extracts seedlings from donor trays using in-house developed plant grippers and a pusher-pin system from below. Plants are handled only once: lifted for inspection, classified and transferred to destination trays or belts according to grade.

How it works

• Plant grippers lift seedlings to create space for visual or camera-based quality assessment.
• Approved seedlings are transferred grade by grade to selected destination belts.
• Classification count depends on the number of destination belts, up to four grades.
• Discarded seedlings and empty plugs are routed to a waste belt for removal.
• Selected trays are combined per class for downstream packing or processing.
• The machine and imaging system include an operator interface with integrated self-diagnosis for simplified maintenance.
