Bicarbo is a corroborant — plant defence enhancer based on sodium bicarbonate. It is a natural substance that improves plant resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses and is allowed in organic agriculture.

Characteristics
Bicarbo is an alkaline salt. When applied in solution to foliage, it raises the pH at the leaf surface, creating conditions unfavorable for fungal development. The increased osmotic pressure on the leaf surface also inhibits spore germination. Recommended uses include grapevine, vegetables, small fruits and ornamentals. Targets include powdery mildew, downy mildew, storage moulds (Penicillium) and scab of pomaceous fruits. It also has herbicidal action against species of the genus Lunaria.
