AboutThe RA-915M with PYRO-915+ attachment is a portable analytical system for fast, direct determination of mercury in solids, liquids and biological matrices down to ppb levels. It eliminates sample pretreatment and reagent use, enabling routine analyses in 1–2 minutes and low operational complexity.
Principle of operationSamples undergo direct thermal decomposition in the PYRO-915+ furnace followed by atomic absorption spectrometry at 254 nm with Zeeman background correction. This approach provides high selectivity, eliminates matrix effects and minimizes interferences for reliable mercury quantification.
Features and benefits- Direct, rapid analysis of solids, liquids and biosamples without chemical pretreatment
- Wide dynamic range spanning more than 5 orders of magnitude
- Low detection limits and superior selectivity using Zeeman background correction
- No reagents or compressed gases required—air is used as carrier gas
- No gold-trap preconcentration needed for many matrices, reducing cycle time and complexity
- No memory effects: immediate analysis of low-concentration samples after high-concentration samples
- Programmable PYRO-915+ furnace for optimized thermal decomposition and mercury thermospeciation studies
- Portable RA-915M analyzer suitable for laboratory and field/ambient air monitoring
- Low running and maintenance costs
ApplicationsThe RA-915M with PYRO-915+ is intended for direct mercury determination in a broad range of matrices, including:
- Soils and sediments
- Rocks, ores and minerals
- Crude oil, oil products, naphtha and petrochemicals
- Coal, coke, fly ash and gypsum
- Sorbent traps for flue and hydrocarbon gases
- Passive air samplers
- Wastewaters, wastes and sludge
- Food, nutritional additives and animal feed
- Biosamples: tissues, hair, urine, blood, etc.
- Drugs and cosmetics
- Plastics, fertilizers and other materials
SoftwareRAPID software controls the RA-915M with PYRO-915+ attachment. The software meets FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requirements and provides data acquisition, processing and reporting; real-time visualization of selective and non-selective absorbance; databases for calibrations and measurement storage; and adjustable decomposition modes for specific matrices. Automatic closed-loop temperature control extends the measurement range and prevents data loss during analysis of complex or highly contaminated samples.
WarrantyThe RA-915M with PYRO-915+ attachment is covered by a full 1-year warranty.
