Description

Product overview

The ARPAL MK-120BD (PRO series) is a gasoline-powered disc wood shredder designed for mounting on a trailer (trailer not included), built for processing branches up to 120 mm in diameter into high-quality wood chips. A mid-class machine equally suited to professionals — arborists, municipal services, landscape contractors — and demanding private users. The machine complies with EU safety directives and is trusted by customers in Germany, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada and beyond.

The output is uniform wood chips of 5–50 mm (90% of the output; fraction depends on input material) — a versatile resource: fuel for solid-fuel boilers and gasifiers, raw material for briquettes and charcoal, premium mulch for soil protection, and chips for professional smoking. Please note: this shredder is designed for branches and trunks — not for boards, beams, slabs or other sawmill material.

Key features

  • StormBlade shredding technologies: 524 mm cutting disc in 20 mm steel weighing 34 kg — the disc acts as a flywheel, easing engine load; four integrated fan blades eject chips with strong airflow; the disc is balanced after welding.
  • 4 CircleCut circular blades in 41CrMo4 steel, induction-hardened to 60 HRC over a ductile core; circular geometry allows rotating the blade to use the entire cutting edge, and the patented single-bolt mounting makes replacement a matter of minutes.
  • Adjustable, heat-treated and precision-ground counter-blade (10 mm AISI 5140 steel) holds the branch firmly for clean, even cuts — even thin and flexible material like willow; adjustable via slots as blades wear.
  • PowerGuard friction clutch protects the engine from overload: if a branch stalls the cutting mechanism, the clutch disengages and the engine idles instead of stalling.
  • Easy Start clutch engagement near 1500 rpm — smooth, stress-free startup for both operator and engine.
  • 360° rotating discharge chute with ejection height up to 2,000 mm; deflector angle adjusted by hand with two knobs — no tools needed.
  • ARPAL Total Protect safety package: hopper geometry compliant with EU garden machinery safety norms; protective curtain against flying chips; safety handle on the hopper that cuts the engine instantly; belts, clutch and pulley fully enclosed in double-sided guards (quick to remove for service).
  • ErgoBase functional design: reinforced hopper with thickened base that withstands constant branch impacts, folds for transport with quick-release locks (no tools); mounting holes on the frame for a chainsaw or spare fuel canister; premium electrostatic powder coating that keeps the machine corrosion-free and "like-new" even after years of outdoor use.
  • Options: additional blade sets; counter-blade.
