Product namePWL SpeedFlow headers are rowless sunflower harvest headers designed to harvest regardless of sowing direction. Optional roto-cut rotating cutter and a shredding reel are available to process stem residue. Design features ensure low seed loss (up to 3%) and allow operating speeds up to 12 km/h. An auxiliary rotor under the cutter bar and a hydraulic flap enable effective work on uneven fields. Machines are offered in working widths from 4.10 m to 13.10 m.
Adjustable platform widthHigher effective yield: reducing the clearance between crop divider platforms decreases crop loss. Platform widths are manually adjustable; for thin-stem varieties clearance can be reduced to 3.5–7 cm to minimise losses.
Independence of row orientationHarvest in any direction: regardless of inter-row spacing, the Speed Flow header can harvest sunflowers in every direction. This is suitable where inter-row widths vary by farm or region.
Roto-cut systemOptional roto-cut is mounted on an independent frame. Cutting height is hydraulically adjusted from the cab. The system uses durable bevel gears and cutters in wear-resistant steel with tungsten carbide coating. Cutter rotors shred residue at 25 m/s (blade tip). Roto-cut accelerates residue decomposition and protects the underside of the harvester. A crushing reel behind the shredder protects tyres.
Drive transmissionRoto-cut drive is transmitted via cast-iron bevel gearboxes and PTO shafts. A central friction clutch protects the machine from damage caused by sudden jams, enabling higher working speeds and reliable operation with low maintenance needs.
Renowned componentsThe cutting unit uses components from well-known manufacturers to ensure durability and serviceability.
Harvesting sunflowers of uneven heightHeight regulation uses a retractable hydraulic flap and a rotor under the cutter bar: the flap bends heads forward while the rotor pulls stems down. Heads rest on platforms and are cut beneath so only heads enter the combine; plants of varying heights are handled effectively.
High operating speedSpeed Flow headers allow work up to 12 km/h. An adjustable head gripper transfers cut sunflowers carefully to the central auger conveyor.
UniversalitySpeed Flow headers can be mounted on most combine harvesters. Matching mounting frames, hydraulic couplings and gearbox reductions are chosen to adapt the header to different combine models. Tilt adjustment and universal frame settings enable optimal working angle selection.
ControlsRoto-cut cutting height and hydraulic flap are adjusted from the operator’s cabin. A cutting height indicator is fitted on the header and is visible to the operator.
