OverviewPWL Speed Flow headers are rowless sunflower harvest headers designed to harvest regardless of sowing direction. They can be equipped with an optional roto-cut rotating cutter and a crushing reel to shred stem residues. These design solutions limit seed loss to up to 3% and allow operating speeds up to 12 km/h. An additional rotor under the cutter bar combined with a hydraulic flap enables harvesting on uneven sunflower fields. Machines are available in working widths from 4.1 m to 10.85 m.
Key features- Rowless design: harvest regardless of inter-row orientation
- Optional roto-cut system for residue shredding and combine protection
- Low seed loss: up to 3%
- High operating speed: up to 12 km/h
- Adjustable crop divider platforms to minimise losses (platform clearance adjustable)
- Additional rotor under cutter bar and hydraulic flap for uneven fields and varying plant heights
- Universal mounting: adaptable to virtually any combine harvester with appropriate mounting frame and couplings
Roto-cut systemThe roto-cut system is optional and mounted on an independent frame. Cutting height is hydraulically adjustable from the operator’s cabin. The system uses durable bevel gear transmissions and cutters made of wear-resistant steel with tungsten carbide coating. Cutter rotors shred residue at a tip speed of 25 m/s. A crushing reel located behind the shredder protects tires and accelerates residue decomposition, protecting the underside of the harvester.
Adjustable platforms & harvesting qualityThe width and clearance of the crop divider platforms are manually adjustable; reducing clearance for thin-stem varieties minimises losses. The design ensures flower heads lean on the platforms and are cut directly below so only heads enter the combine, enabling good harvest quality even with uneven plant heights.
Drive & componentsThe roto-cut drive is transmitted via cast-iron bevel gear transmissions and PTO shafts for low maintenance and long service life. A central friction clutch protects the machine against damage from sudden jams. Cutting unit components are sourced from reputable manufacturers for durability and reliability.
Operation & controlAdjustments for cutting height and the hydraulic flap are controlled from the operator’s cabin. A cutting height indicator on the header is visible to the operator for precise control.
