OverviewPWL SpeedFlow headers are rowless sunflower harvest headers designed to harvest regardless of sowing direction. Models are available in multiple working widths from 4.1 m to approximately 13.1 m. The headers can be fitted with an optional roto-cut rotating cutter and a shredding reel to process stem residue and protect the combine underside. Design features support reduced seed loss and operation on uneven fields.
Key features- Rowless design: enables harvesting irrespective of row orientation.
- Optional roto-cut system: rotating cutter and reel shred stems to protect the combine underside.
- Low seed loss: reported up to 3% under specified conditions.
- Working speed: text indicates up to 12 km/h; technical table lists a working speed range of 7–10 km/h.
- Under-cutter rotor and hydraulic flap: improve harvesting performance on uneven sunflower stands by bending heads forward and pulling them onto the platforms for cutting under the heads.
- Manually adjustable crop divider platforms to reduce clearance for thin-stem varieties and minimise losses.
- Adjustable sunflower head gripper for gentle transfer of cut heads to the collection screw conveyor.
- Roto-cut specifics: hydraulic cutting-height adjustment from the operator cabin; cutters made from wear-resistant steel with tungsten carbide coating; rotor shredder blade-tip speed ~25 m/s; crushing reel behind shredder protects tires.
- Transmission: cast-iron bevel gearboxes and PTO shafts, with central friction clutch protection against jams.
- Universal mounting: compatible with most combines given appropriate mounting frame, hydraulic connections and gearbox reductions; tilt and frame adjustments for optimal working angle.
- Full in-cabin control: cutting height and hydraulic flap adjustable from the operator cabin; cutting height indicator visible on the header.
Design benefitsRoto-cut accelerates decomposition of crop residues and protects the combine underside. The crushing reel located behind the shredder provides tyre protection. Adjustable platforms combined with the flap/rotor system ensure reliable harvesting quality across uneven-height sunflower stands.
