Category / TypologyCATEGORY: POTABLE WATER
TYPOLOGY: FILTERS
When to use itWater filters are used for primary filtration of water and sewage in civil and industrial applications when a clarified effluent with reduced organic content is required for reuse or discharge. The FCA filter uses activated carbon as the filtration medium; filtration combines mechanical straining by the bed with adsorption on activated carbon. Multi-media beds (FSD) are available on request.
How it is madeThe unit consists of a vertical cylindrical vessel with bottom drain, manhole, lifting eyebolts and support feet. Inlet and outlet connections are flanged. Internal equipment includes backwash nozzles, diffusers and a base plate supporting the filter bed. Valves, pressure gauges and an electro-pneumatic control panel are supplied as auxiliaries.
How it worksFiltration operates in a discontinuous cyclic mode: a differential pressure switch stops feed flow when a preset differential is reached and automatically starts the backwash cycle. Backwashing is performed from the bottom using water and air. The standard design provides a base plate on which backwash nozzles are mounted.
Strengths- Pressurized filtration with high residual pressure
- Activated carbon filter bed
- Fully automatic operation
- Very short backwashing time
- Low maintenance requirements
