Description

DESCRIPTION
In cattle and sheep there are stages when several challenges come together: the arrival of store calves at the feedlot, the transition period, lactation or ration changes. On top of the farm's parasite pressure there is often a mycotoxin load in forages and cereals that cannot be seen but takes its toll on intake, defences and batch performance.
Micoxcocci is the mineral complementary feed of AMBiotec's Mic-Ox line for ruminants of all categories. It combines a mixture of plant-derived flavouring substances (essential oils), prebiotics (β-glucans and mannan-oligosaccharides) and two clays, sepiolite and bentonite, which act as toxin binders. It is added to the feed, the TMR mixer wagon or the pellets. It is the product in the range that brings together, in a single supplement, support against parasite pressure and management of mycotoxin risk.
Its action rests on three fronts: the balance of the digestive microbiota, the protection of the intestinal mucosa by reducing its permeability, and the adsorption of bacterial toxins and mycotoxins in the digestive tract before they are absorbed.
WHAT IT BRINGS TO THE FARM
  • Parasite pressure: nutritional support on farms with coccidia, cryptosporidia and nematode challenge. It fits into the farm's parasite control programme without replacing it.
  • Mycotoxins and bacterial toxins: acts as a binder and adsorbent of mycotoxins and of toxins from undesirable bacteria such as clostridia, and controls the toxic effects of the 6 most pathogenic mycotoxins.
  • Mucosa and defences: protects the intestinal mucosa by reducing its permeability and improves the immune response in times of stress.
  • Performance: better use of nutrients and, thanks to its antioxidant activity, helps to improve carcass shelf life.
  • Easy handling: added to the feed, the TMR mixer wagon or the pellets, with no withdrawal period before slaughter.
TARGET SPECIES AND PRODUCTION STAGES
  • Suckling calves: in starter feed, up to 120 kg.
  • Store calves: the first 40 days after arrival at the feedlot.
  • Fattening calves: in single growing feed.
  • Dairy cows: transition and lactation, in the TMR mixer wagon.
  • Suckler cows: programme in pellets.
  • Sheep: transition and lactation, in the TMR mixer wagon.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
  • Administration: orally, via the feed, the TMR mixer wagon or the pellets.
  • Suckling calves: 2 kg/t of feed up to 120 kg body weight.
  • Store calves on arrival: 2 kg/t of feed during the first 40 days.
  • Single growing feed for fattening: 1.5 kg/t.
  • Cows in the transition period: 2 kg/t in the TMR mixer wagon.
  • Lactating cows: 1.5 kg/t in the TMR mixer wagon.
  • Suckler cows: 3 kg/t of pellets; the complete programme equals 40 kg of pellets per cow.
  • Ewes in the transition period: 3 kg/t in the TMR mixer wagon.
  • Lactating ewes: 1.5 kg/t in the TMR mixer wagon.
Field example: a group of 50 suckler cows eats 2,000 kg of pellets over the complete programme, containing 6 kg of Micoxcocci. An 8-tonne TMR batch for lactating cows takes 12 kg.
Practical points: pre-blend the product with a small part of the ration before adding it to the wagon, so that it spreads well; respect the wagon's mixing time; and wear respiratory protection, goggles and gloves when handling the powder.
COMPOSITION AND ANALYTICAL CONSTITUENTS
  • Composition: calcium carbonate, β-glucans and mannan-oligosaccharides, dextrose, carob powder, whey permeate, magnesium carbonate and monopropylene glycol.
  • Additives (per kg): mixture of flavouring substances 179,080 mg. Technological additives: sepiolite (1g562) 147,400 mg; bentonite (1m558i) 116,600 mg; silicic acid (E551a) 6,380 mg. Nutritional additives: betaine HCl (3a925) 33,440 mg; RRR-alpha-tocopheryl acetate (3a700ii) 286 IU.
  • Analytical constituents: crude protein 5.8 %, crude fibre 2.7 %, crude fat 0.1 %, crude ash 48 %, calcium 9.9 %, phosphorus 0.1 %, sodium 0.17 %, magnesium 2.0 %, lysine below 0.1 %, methionine below 0.1 %.
  • Physico-chemical properties: solid powder of characteristic colour and odour, neutral taste.
  • How the formula works: the aromatic fraction provides the phytobiotic action, the prebiotics support the microbiota, and sepiolite and bentonite are what bind the toxins; the rest of the base is mineral and energy.
SAFETY AND COMPATIBILITY
  • Natural origin: ingredients of natural origin, with no known side effects, that do not generate resistance.
  • No withdrawal period: no withdrawal period is needed before slaughter.
  • Label contraindication: simultaneous oral use with macrolides should be avoided.
  • Handling: wear respiratory protection, goggles and gloves.
  • Veterinary judgement: Micoxcocci is a complementary feed and does not replace the diagnosis or judgement of the veterinarian responsible for the farm.
LOGISTICS
  • Format: 25 kg bag.
  • Shelf life: 12 months from the date of manufacture.
  • Storage: keep the container tightly closed, in a cool (not above 25 °C), dry place, away from heat sources and sunlight.
