DESCRIPTIONMany feedlots produce their feed on the farm with home-grown or purchased cereal, and need a product that, in a single addition, supplies everything the cereal lacks: vitamins, trace elements, calcium, salt, buffer and part of the nitrogen.
AMBomba Terneros 4 % is AMBiotec Nutrition's mineral complementary feed for beef calves, from weaning to slaughter, formulated at a higher inclusion rate to ensure complete coverage of requirements in fattening rations. It provides vitamins A, D3, E, B1 and B6, the trace elements zinc, manganese, copper, iodine, cobalt and selenium, feed-grade urea, sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate, on a base of calcium carbonate, magnesium oxide and sodium sulphate. According to the catalogue, its combination of macrominerals and buffering effect optimises rumen fermentation and daily growth.
It is added to the feed at 40 kg per tonne, two bags per tonne.
WHAT IT BRINGS TO THE FARM- Complete coverage in a single product: vitamins, trace elements, calcium, magnesium, salt and buffer for the fattening feed, with no other mineral supplements.
- Non-protein nitrogen: urea provides nitrogen for microbial protein in the rumen; at 40 kg/t it amounts to about 4.8 kg of urea per tonne of feed.
- Buffering effect: sodium bicarbonate provides buffering capacity to cereal-rich rations; according to the catalogue, it supports rumen fermentation.
- Easy to dose: a 4 % inclusion spreads well in on-farm mixers.
- Daily growth: according to the catalogue, aimed at optimising daily gain during fattening.
TARGET SPECIES AND PRODUCTION STAGES- Beef calves with a functional rumen: from weaning to slaughter, in the growing and fattening phases.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE- Administration: orally, via the feed. For use exclusively in the manufacture of animal feed.
- Dose: 40 kg per tonne of feed.
- Urea (label): urea should only be given to animals with a functional rumen. It shall be introduced gradually up to the maximum dose. The maximum content shall only be given in diets rich in easily digestible carbohydrates and low in soluble nitrogen. A maximum of 30 % of the total nitrogen in the daily ration may come from urea.
Field example: each tonne of feed takes two 20 kg bags; a 10-tonne batch, 400 kg (twenty bags). A 1,200 kg big bag covers 30 tonnes of feed.
Practical points: introduce the urea-containing feed progressively; as it already contains salt and bicarbonate, check the formula before adding more; do not combine it with another mineral supplement in the range; and handle it with a dust mask, gloves and safety goggles.
COMPOSITION AND ANALYTICAL CONSTITUENTS- Composition: calcium carbonate, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, magnesium oxide and anhydrous sodium sulphate.
- Vitamins (per kg): vitamin A (3a672a) 157,700 IU; vitamin D3 (3a671) 31,540 IU; vitamin E (3a700) 473 mg; vitamin B1 (3a821) 211 mg; vitamin B6 (3a831) 211 mg.
- Trace elements (per kg): zinc (3b603) 3,240 mg; manganese (3b502) 2,160 mg; copper (3b405) 75 mg; iodine (3b202) 24 mg; cobalt (coated cobalt(II) carbonate, 3b304) 8 mg; selenium (3b801) 6 mg.
- Nutritional additives (per kg): urea (3d1) 119,700 mg.
- Other additives (per kg): antioxidants BHT (E321) 6.7 mg and BHA (1b320) 1.7 mg; sepiolite (1g562) 90,200 mg; mixture of flavouring substances 880 mg.
- Analytical constituents: calcium 17.2 %, sodium 5.8 %, magnesium 1.9 %, phosphorus below 0.01 %.
- Physico-chemical properties: coarse greyish powder with a characteristic odour; pH 7 ± 1; density 1.4 ± 0.3 g/ml; water solubility below 15 %.
- How the formula works: a more diluted complete mineral supplement, which adds salt, buffer and part of the ration's nitrogen to the vitamins and trace elements.
SAFETY AND COMPATIBILITY- Urea: only for animals with a functional rumen, with gradual introduction and respecting the limit of 30 % of total nitrogen (label).
- No withdrawal period: no withdrawal period is required for meat.
- Vitamin D: simultaneous administration of vitamin D2 is prohibited.
- Handling: protection against exposure to cobalt by inhalation or skin contact; dust mask, gloves and safety goggles.
- Veterinary judgement: it is a complementary feed and does not replace the diagnosis or judgement of the veterinarian responsible for the farm.
LOGISTICS- Formats: 20 kg bag and 1,200 kg big bag.
- Shelf life: 9 months from manufacture.
- Storage: in a cool, dry place, below 25 °C.
