DESCRIPTIONIn calf fattening, the ration has to cover vitamin and trace element requirements that leave no room for error. If the mineral supplement oxidises in storage, separates in the mixer or generates dust, the calf does not receive what the formula states, and the batch grows unevenly.
AMBomba Terneros 0,5 % is AMBiotec Nutrition's mineral complementary feed for beef calves, from weaning to slaughter. It provides vitamins A, D3, E, B1 and B6 and the trace elements zinc, manganese, copper, iodine, cobalt and selenium, on a base of calcium carbonate, magnesium oxide and sodium sulphate, together with a mixture of flavouring substances. According to the catalogue and the website, it incorporates a phytobiotic core, coated vitamins to preserve their stability and minerals with an anti-dust treatment. It is the basic reference of the AMBomba range for calves, designed for feed mills and for farms that make their own feed.
It is added to the feed at 5 kg per tonne, a low dose that makes it easy to handle at the mill and covers the vitamin and mineral supply for the whole fattening period with a single product.
WHAT IT BRINGS TO THE FARM- Complete supply in a single product: vitamins, trace elements and macrominerals for the whole growing and fattening phase, at a single dose of 5 kg/t.
- Stable vitamins: according to the catalogue, the coating protects the vitamins from oxidation during storage and feed manufacture.
- Clean manufacturing: minerals with an anti-dust treatment and an anticaking agent (sepiolite), which mix better and reduce dust at the mill.
- Uniform growth: its functional core favours homogeneous and robust growth of the batch.
- Programmes with fewer antibiotics: it fits into antibiotic reduction strategies in fattening, without replacing the veterinarian's judgement.
TARGET SPECIES AND PRODUCTION STAGES- Beef calves: from weaning to slaughter, in the growing and fattening phases.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE- Administration: orally, via the feed. For use exclusively in the manufacture of animal feed.
- Dose: 5 kg per tonne of feed.
Field example: a 10-tonne batch of fattening feed takes 50 kg of AMBomba Terneros 0,5 %, just under two 30 kg bags. A 1,200 kg big bag covers 240 tonnes of feed.
Practical points: pre-blend the mineral supplement with part of the feed before adding it to the mixer and respect the mixing time; do not add another vitamin-mineral supplement to the same ration without reviewing the formulation; and handle it with a dust mask, gloves and safety goggles.
COMPOSITION AND ANALYTICAL CONSTITUENTS- Composition: calcium carbonate, magnesium oxide and anhydrous sodium sulphate.
- Vitamins (per kg): vitamin A (3a672a) 1,498,000 IU; vitamin D3 (3a671) 299,600 IU; vitamin E (all-rac-alpha-tocopheryl acetate, 3a700) 4,484 mg; vitamin B1 (thiamine mononitrate, 3a821) 2,006 mg; vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride, 3a831) 2,006 mg.
- Trace elements (per kg): zinc (zinc oxide, 3b603) 23,760 mg; manganese (manganese(II) oxide, 3b502) 15,840 mg; copper (cupric sulphate pentahydrate, 3b405) 550 mg; iodine (calcium iodate, 3b202) 176 mg; cobalt (coated cobalt(II) carbonate, 3b304) 59 mg; selenium (sodium selenite, 3b801) 47 mg.
- Other additives (per kg): antioxidants BHT (E321) 52 mg and BHA (1b320) 13 mg; anticaking agent sepiolite (1g562) 104,544 mg; mixture of flavouring substances 6,811 mg.
- Analytical constituents: calcium 21 %, magnesium 5.6 %, sodium 1.4 %, phosphorus 0.02 %.
- Physico-chemical properties: coarse greyish powder with a characteristic odour; pH 7 ± 1; density 1.4 ± 0.3 g/ml; water solubility below 15 %.
- How the formula works: a mineral carrier of calcium, magnesium and sodium that carries the vitamins and trace elements for fattening, with antioxidants that protect them and sepiolite that prevents caking.
SAFETY AND COMPATIBILITY- No withdrawal period: no withdrawal period is required for meat.
- Vitamin D: simultaneous administration of vitamin D2 is prohibited.
- Copper and pastures: the copper level of this feed may cause copper deficiency in cattle grazing pastures with a high molybdenum or sulphur content (label warning).
- Handling: protective measures must be taken to avoid exposure to cobalt by inhalation or skin contact; use a dust mask, gloves and safety goggles.
- Veterinary judgement: AMBomba Terneros 0,5 % is a complementary feed and does not replace the diagnosis or judgement of the veterinarian responsible for the farm.
