Description

CATEGORY WATER INTAKE
TYPOLOGY SCREENS

WHEN TO USE IT The SGPSA automatic screen cleaner with pendulum bucket is designed for cleaning large bar screens at water intakes (sea, lake, river) and at large water treatment plants. It is suitable where continuous, reliable removal of screened debris and automated discharge are required to protect downstream machinery and processes.

CONSTRUCTION / DESIGN The machine comprises a reinforced mobile trolley running on rails mounted on the channel upper level, a pendulum-type bucket with sliding rollers, and an electric hoist assembly. The trolley is engineered to withstand upward, downward and overturning loads from the bucket. Power is supplied to the trolley by a cable reel or a festoon multipolar cable. The hoist uses three steel ropes on a drum (two outer ropes for bucket support, one central rope for bucket opening/closing via an electric actuator) and is fitted with a self-braking gearmotor and electromechanical overload protection.

OPERATION The SGPSA performs three functions in one unit: cleaning the screen bars, retaining the screened material, and discharging it. During descent the bucket remains open, then closes at channel bottom to lift the captured material on the ascent. Discharge can be into dedicated collection areas accessible by the moving machine, into a tipping body when full, or into parallel channels directly from the bucket after the upward run. Operation modes include manual (push-button panel, remote control) and fully automatic, with the ability to service individual screen sections for maintenance.
