When to use itUse the VTR1 for deep intake channels (>4-5 m) or applications requiring continuous, high-throughput screening of raw water prior to pumps, heat exchangers, desalination units or treatment lines.
How it is madeThe unit consists of a cylindrical bearing structure reinforced by radial steel profiles to provide a large, rigid cylindrical surface able to withstand rotational and hydraulic loads. Removable filter panels (frames with square mesh or perforated plate) are bolted to the structure. The drum is mounted on a rotating shaft supported by two robust side supports with lifetime-lubricated bearings sized for submerged continuous operation. A gearmotor with cylindrical gears transmits torque via pinion-and-rack to rotate the drum. The filter includes a counter-current washing bar with high-pressure nozzles that cleans the filtering surface from inside to outside, and one or more hoppers to collect screened debris and wash water. Gaskets seal the interface between the rotating drum and the fixed channel structure. Overload protection is provided by standard dynamometric devices or optional electronic torque/absorption limiters. The design and fully automatic cleaning system ensure reliable long-term operation.
How it worksIncoming channel flow is divided and enters the drum axially from both sides. A closed central front forces water to pass from the inside to the outside through the submerged cylindrical filtering surface. Filtered water recombines and exits downstream. Debris retained on the inner surface is dislodged by counter-current washing and guided into hoppers by the wash flow.
