Product overviewThe VS static screen is a fine screening unit designed for the pre-treatment of civil and industrial wastewater. It is recommended where no electrical supply is available or when motorized equipment must be avoided. The VS series is a mechanical static screen; the VSV variant includes an electromechanical vibrator to improve solids discharge.
Category / TypologyCATEGORY: WATER INTAKE
TYPOLOGY: SCREENS
When to use itThe VS static screen is intended for fine screening of raw wastewater in municipal and industrial plants, temporary sites and remote installations where power is limited. Select the VSV variant when mechanical vibration is required to enhance solids removal.
How it is madeThe unit consists of a frame of profiles and press-bent steel sheets forming a double-acting feed and discharge chamber, a filtering pack composed of wedge-wire bars with defined spacing and, in the VSV model, an electromechanical vibrator.
How it worksRaw water fills the inlet chamber and flows over the top of the filtering pack, which ensures uniform distribution of the liquid. Water passes through the wedge-wire gaps and reaches the discharge chamber while screenings move along the screen and fall by gravity into the discharge area. The screen geometry slows and partially dewaters the screenings. The inclination of the filtering pack can be adjusted via a knob to optimise performance for different wastewater types. The static design minimises moving parts and, in the VS version, eliminates the need for an electric motor, reducing installation and maintenance requirements.
Strengths- No need for electricity (VS static model)
- Low installation and maintenance costs
- Simple operation
- Quiet operation and consistent performance over time
